SUN! Oh My, What FUN!!

My last event that I attended was SUN. And it was definitely a lot of fun!

I got to see more friends and make new friends. I learned about scribal arts, heraldry and learned to make a sprang bag. Though, my fingers simply do not want to do the over-under, back-forth movements necessary to weaving. Luckily, Masatsugu has a talent in that area and he took over my bag for me. Thank goodness :)

I talked to the heralds about names and devices and badges. That was very interesting and enlightening. I'm excited to work out the rest of my name and the device for myself.

The best part was learning the scribal arts. I love illumination. I've always been a doodler and sketcher and now I get to put that to work! Boar's Head has a scroll blank contest happening and Lady Belle is kind enough to take some of my work to contribute. Gevehard was a great instructor and soon I'm going to have to track him down to show me how to gold leaf. At the moment, I'm still learning the basics.

If anyone needs scroll blanks, please let me know. It's easier for me to make them when I have a little goal over myself!
